The San Diego Music Awards (SDMA) is an annual event established in 1991 to honor the achievements of local musicians across various genres, including rock, jazz, hip hop, and pop.

Held at Humphreys by the Bay on May 6h, it serves as the primary fundraiser for the San Diego Music Foundation's Guitars for Schools program, which supports music education in over 120 local schools.

Please vote for Door 13 as Best Rock Artist. You can vote every day until voting closes at 5 pm on March 31.

Alec Peterson

Alec brings the riffs and muscle into the sonic core of Door 13. His guitar work blends crushing heaviness with intricate hooks, creating the backbone of the band’s sound. On stage, Alec matches technical skill with undeniable swagger, feeding off the crowd’s energy with every chord.

Gus "Gusto" Kendrick

Gus “Gusto” drives Door 13’s low-end fury with precision, groove, and fearless energy. Known for his rock-solid bass lines and on-stage unpredictability, he’s the heartbeat of the band—steady when it counts, wild when it matters.

Gene "Mullett" Padden

Forged in the rust-crusted heart of Scranton, PA, Gene “Mullett" pounds rebellion into every beat. Now a San Diego-based drummer for Door 13 and former Wind-Up Records act Papercut Massacre, he channels chaos into rhythm.
